Why accessibility?
Part 3 of the Disability Discrimination Act requires the providers of goods and services, including websites, to accommodate the needs of disabled people. But in addition to the regulatory requirements, there are significant business benefits associated with accessible websites. Principally these are:
- access to a large and growing market
- reduced development and maintenance costs
- faster page and document download times
- reduced server loads
- readiness for and compatibility with emerging technologies
Despite the fact that equal opportunities and diversity are now firmly on most organisations’ agenda, and despite the benefits listed above, surprisingly few websites are accessible. 1

We have many years' experience of building and maintaining accessible websites, and of auditing and upgrading sites for accessibility. We have particular expertise with respect to accessible online forms and PDFs.
