Accessible PDFs from Word
In association with DIG Inclusion, we offer this half-day course on creating accessible PDFs using Microsoft Word. Completing the course will provide you with all the know-how to produce the most accessible source documents possible.

No prior knowledge of accessibility issues is required.

Avaialable for Word versions 2003, 2007, 2010 or 2013. Topics include:
- Why accessibility? (legal compliance, better and faster document production …)
- Applying structure with headings, lists, links, tables of contents …
- Images, alt text, and handling charts effectively
- Designing tables for accessibility and usability
- Colour contrast issues and understanding colour blindness
- Text formatting issues
- Avoiding common design and layout problems
- Understanding Word version differences, bugs and workarounds
- Adding meta data
- Creating a tagged, bookmarked PDF
